Phongsaly Province 
Located: in the northern of the Laos.
Total area: 16,270 square kilometers.
Population: 174,000.
7 Districts: Phongsaly, May, Khua, Samphanh, Boon-Neua, Boon-Tai and Gnot-Ou.
Capital: Phongsaly. Phongsaly province the most remote in northern Laos, enclosed three sides by China and Vietnam and cut off to overland travel from Oudomxay to the south. The population with 13 minority ethnic groups: Khammu, Tai Dam, Thai daeng, Yao, Leu, Hor, Hmong, Akha, Yang, Bid, Lolo and others. Each minority ethnic group has their own identity, language and culture such as wedding ceremonies, handicrafts, silver wares and jewelry.

แขวงพงสาลี เป็นเขตภูดอย อยู่ภาคเหนือของลาว มีเนื้อที่ทั้งหมด 16,270 ตารางกิโลเมตร มีพลเมือง 145,000 คน มี 20 ชนเผ่า โดยมีชนเผ่าขะมุ และชนเผ่าภูน้อยมากกว่าชนเผ่าอื่นๆ ประกอบด้วย 6 เมือง เช่น เมืองพงสาลี, เมืองใหม่, เมืองขวา, เมืองลำพัน, เมืองสมบูรณ์ไชย และเมืองยอดอู มีชายแดนติดกับประเทศสาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีน, แขวงหลวงพระบาง, แขวงอุดมไชยและประเทศสาธารณรัฐสังคมนิยมเวียดนาม
